Our 2012 Holiday Bazaar!

HAVE A HOLLY, JOLLY CHRISTMAS!

The Craft Gals have been busy planning and crafting for our  2012 Holiday Bazaar.

Mark your calender NOW for November 30th and December 1st.  Our Holiday Bazaar will be from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on both days.

We are located in York at 1401 Mt. Rose Ave.  We are handicap accessible.  If you have any questions, concerning our location or bazaar, please call our office at 717-843-2922.

We will be serving lunch from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm both days....
BUT before I tell you more...here is a peek of some of our crafts!

This is a selection of assorted "thoughts", they are framed 8"x10".  They can be placed in larger frames with matting.

We've come up with a lovely idea for our old Bethany song books.
Lovely wreaths.  Come early...they won't last long!

This is a selection of our Christmas wreaths and Winter wreaths.

The Wooden shovels  have hand painted scenes
done by Dee.
There are only two, so shop early!

Gail brought these these pine cones from North Carolina.
They are about 10" long.

We have a selection of these snowmen.
Each one has a flicker light inside...sooo cute!

While we're on snowmen, how would you like a snowman pin?

more snowmen...

OOOPS!
Sorry, that's Molly our mascot.  She was taking a break from
crafting and doing research on Ancestry.com

We have a very nice selection of tree or package ornaments.
We will have a lovely selection of hand knit items made by Carolyn
and so much more...but we have to leave some surprises!

Here are some of the gals, working on crafts.
We started in August and it is so hard to believe that November
is here and that there are only a few weeks until our bazaar.

I saw the Navy airship, on a beautiful afternoon, when I
was walking Molly in the yard.   I quickly went and got my camera.
It was headed away from me, so I started waving to it.
Was I surprised, when it turned, and flew directly over
my house!  George served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years
and he loved it!...a wonderful memory.

Now, back to the bazaar.  We will be serving homemade soups and sandwiches for lunch.  This Summer we husked corn and froze it for our famous corn chowder.  We will most likely have our campers soup also. We will have hamburger BBQ and chicken salad sandwiches, and a large array of desserts.

In additon, we have made an assortment of homemade jams.  Our Bethany Bakers will be busy making yummy candy, cakes, pies, breads and hopefully Josie's Apple dumplings, etc.
You won't want to miss our Bake Shoppe.

And for the children ...
We will have our Secret Santa Shoppe!
No parents allowed.  Santa's helper's will assist the children with
their selections.  All gifts are wrapped with gift tags at no cost.
We do NOT make a profit  in our Secret Santa Shoppe.
All items are sold at or below cost.

Come and enjoy shopping with us and warm up with
a free cup of coffee or tea.  We invite you to bring your
family, friends and neighbors.

Lastly, but most important,
we give our Praise and Thanksgiving
to God our Father, who continues to Bless
this church and the dedicated group of Bethany
Craft Guild ladies as we work for the good of our
church and our community...
And all God's people said AMEN!

Bethany Craft Guild

Time to Start Planning and Crafting for

Our Christmas Bazaar!

We will have our first meeting to plan and start crafting for our Christmas Bazaar on Wednesday, August 1st, from 9:00 am to noon.  We welcome and look forward to having you join us.  Anyone in the community is welcome to join us.  If you are not a crafter, but always wanted to be...this is the place for you!  We will teach you.  Our group has grown to 12 ladies, more or less, and there is always room for more!  If you have any questions, feel free to call Carolyn at the church office, 843-2922 and she will be happy to answer all your questions.

We pray...talk...laugh...enjoy good fellowship and even have time to craft at our meetings!  Who doesn't want to get out of the house and meet new friends?

All members of the Craft Guild are asked to bring samples and/or ideas for crafts at our first planning meeting.  Ideas can be found on web sites, magazines, bazaars and even in gift shops.

We look forward to seeing you and hear how you are enjoying your Summer!...
Me...I even did a little crafting of sorts in my backyard...Take a look at my

"Bottle Tree"

I had a pine tree cut down in the early Spring and kept 5 feet of the trunk.  It is covered with ivy and I
thought it would nice as a "Bottle Tree."My granddaughter, Katie and her finance, Bobby, collected
all the colorful wine bottles and the other decorative bottles, I purchased at the Christmas Tree Shop.
It has become quite a conversation piece and I must admit...I rather like it!

A Very Merry Christmas To Everyone!

.

A very dear friend gave me this Butterfly jar for my birthday.
The "butterfly" actually flutters about the jar!
Molly is just fascinated by it!

She is determined to catch this butterfly!

Ruth, Joyce, Carole, and Pauline
We gathered for an ornament and cookie exchange.

Dee, Deb, Millie, and Carolyn
showing our ornaments.

Joyce opening up her package.

Pauline opening up her package.

We gathered together to celebrate after the bazaar. Unfortunately, all the ladies were unable to attend. We had fun playing "Now you have it, now you don't" with an ornament exchange and shared our home baked cookies. Our bazaar was a grand success! We raised over $3,000! After the bills were paid, we are able to help 4 of our church families in crisis for Christmas, set aside $500 toward our food baskets for 2012, and pay for an upcoming electric bill...God is Good!

Pray for us, as we meet later to elect officers and decide the future of the Craft guild.

FROM ALL OF US TO ALL OF YOU...

A Very Merry Christmas and
God's Blessings in the New Year!
